Kamakuru Gashuku Invitation From Japan

Sensei Matsuo & Seiseikai invite black belts from Aiki Budo Centre to attend the annual Kamakuru Gashuku May 13th & 14th.

This is the 30th Anniversary of this Gashuku and a ceremony for those attending will be held on May 14, 2017. Many other training opportunities are available on May 15th, 17th and 21st.

If you are a black belt and are interested in attending, please advise Sensei Sheppard. The club will sponsor your entrance fee.

Sensei Therese Chow has announced a time change for Friday evening class at Aiki Budo Centre London.

Starting Friday, March 3rd, 2017 class will start at 6:30 PM. Hopefully the slightly later start time will mean that more people can attend! OSU!

Field Trip to St. Thomas for the Friday Class

Sensei Therese Chow would like to remind anyone who attends Friday’s class that  during the first week of the Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre closure,  class on Friday June 24 class will be held at the St. Thomas Dojo (561 Talbot St, St. Thomas). Car pooling is available. Cars will depart from Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre parking lot at 6:00pm, and from the Canadian Tire by White Oaks mall at 6:15pm. Class will run from 7-8:30pm.

Sensei Sheppard Training With Sensei Terada

Here Sensei Jaimie Sheppard takes ukemi from Kiyoyuki Terada (Yoshinkan Aikido Saikō Komon or Yoshinkan Aikido Supreme Advisor) who along with Gozo Shioda co-founded Yoshinkan Aikido in the years following the Second World War. In this clip, from September 2002, we see Terada Sensei at the age of 80 performing Kata Mochi Yokomen Uchi Shihonage.
